About us

Everything you need to know about the people (and dogs) behind Miniature Friends.

We’re on a mission to become the best resource for small dogs.

Miniature Friends was created by a couple to help provide essential and important information to small dog owners, covering all types of small breeds and how to improve their quality of life, manage their health, take care of them and improve their lifestyle and training needs. We want our content to be accessible to as many as possible and the content provided on this site is a result of over 10 years of experience living with small doggos, from Dachshunds to Jack Russells and Pugs.

Our straightforward approach to writing content cuts out the confusion with our expert-reviewed, person-first experiences that will help you make the right choice for your dog and improve their quality of life. Miniature Friends covers every area to help keep your dog healthy and to provide the essential nutrients and wellbeing needed for your dog to live a happy and fulfilling life.

We hope that you will tap into all of our content resources and stay around for future uploads.

Thanks for being here with us,
The Miniature Friends Team

Our story and writing team

The team has been surrounded by dogs throughout their adult and teenage lives and have a wealth of experience of being dog owners. We aren’t qualified and we certainly aren’t veterinarians, but we are super passionate about animal care and making sure our little ones are in the safest of hands.

Emily is a seasoned animal care technician and marketing associate for an international nonprofit organization based out of the Northern California Bay Area and Puerto Peñasco, Sonora, Mexico. Their aim is to rescue animals on both sides of the border that might not have a fighting chance elsewhere in addition to providing essential veterinary care to underserved communities. Emily works directly under a veterinarian, behavioral team, and medical team which gives her a well-rounded overview of animal behavior and medical wellness. Her approach to writing about animals is rooted in compassion, understanding, time, love, and care.
Paulina is a specialist content writer based in Bristol UK that focuses on writing about small dog breeds. In 2015, she welcomed a Jack Russell into her family’s home, and since moving out, welcomed Tilly, her miniature dachshund into her own household, so she has a wealth of experience in raising and training small doggos!

Why we created Miniature Friends

Since 2020, the UK has seen a significant increase in the number of dogs being sold and adopted due to the Coronavirus outbreak, and as we return to our normal routines, dogs are being abandoned and re-sold as the owners underestimated the time required to raise a dog, and whether one could fit into their routine.

We not only want to make more dog owners know about their dogs’ breed but to raise awareness and to educate upcoming owners of the realities of owning a dog and what they need to be prepared for. This way, educating our audience, reduces the likelihood of complications in the future or abandonment of small dogs.

The team at Miniature Friends genuinely cares about the wellbeing of these cuddly creatures and wants to make a positive change.
